WHAT IF ?
What if the human looked by echolocating (like a bat)

What if we could only perceive by smell?

What if the device in the ear would help you see and vice versa, the device on your eyes would help you hear?

What if there was a device to increase the hearing from people who do have a normal hearing but want to hear the smallest sounds?

What if we train our other senses by taking one out?

What if we can create sounds without damaging our ears?

What if you could hear what your thinking out loud?

What if sounds could let you know how someone feels?

What if our thoughts would be played out loud on the speaker?

What if the bionic eye would actually allow you to watch the movies without having an actual screen?

What if you could turn down the volume of the people you were not paying attention to? (Så that you at a party or a café
could remove all the background noise and only listening to that one person)

What if the human ears could be moved 360 degrees consciously towards the sound

What if you could see how people are feeling?

What if you could choose in which direction to hear - and hereby also what not to hear from your surroundings?

What if you could project your thoughts (with your bionic eye)?

What if other people could see our thoughts? (Make it explicit)

What if we would be obligated to everyday practice our senses? What would training senses look like?

ASLE'S PROTOTYPE & SKETCHES
What if you could see how people are feeling?
1 / 'Map game' which helps you train senses
What if we would be obligated to everyday practice our senses? What would training senses look like?
2 / Object to train your texture feel
3 / Smelling art which becomes part of the living space
Realisation of the map game
Click the phone to be sent to the actual prototype
1 / Laser cutting the map - 400g settings
2 / Laser cutting the wood, making a mould and vacuuming the under layer
3 / Assembling the foam, vacuumed layer and paper map
4 / Combining the smell with the map
orange
coffee beans
spices
5 / Final prototype of the map game
/ Conclusions

I didn't take the element of trying out the prototype in class as a first priority. I firstly created several concepts which could turn into a prototype but they were not 'realistic' enough on the first place to be able to be tested. I have created the map which actually included the smelling elements but it is hard to say whether that would improve smell, theoretically speaking it supposed to work but it can't be proven with my prototype itself.

It was hard to create a prototype for training the senses because you need to decide on the sense you're going to develop the kit for and beside that in order to see if the prototype works you need to do the practice long-term.

Next time if it is such a short notice, I rather focus on questionnaire or plot party to get certain answers about the topic I am researching.
COLLABORATIVE LEARNINGS
/ during the week we have been researching a lot about the senses in general and it helped that we did it together but at the same time we all researched another direction so at the end it ended up in the prototypes of all different directions and ideas
/ we discovered that by researching the same thing but slightly from a different angle can bring really diverse outcomes
/ most importantly what matters is that we shared personal conclusions of the research with each other and in that way contributed to better results of the prototypes
/ all in all we didn't have enough time to develop the physical prototypes fully but definitely learning point was to think about the intention of the prototype, what do you want to know from testing it
/ we have figured that for the next time is more relevant to have one prototype and that one better developed than unfinished smaller, unconnected ones; for the sake of the group's experimentation is very beneficial tho
/ Conclusions
Not everyone finds it useful to see how people feel by means of colour and temperature. This is because the temperature can be influenced in different ways.

For example, if a person has been doing sports and is judged on his or her temperature, people would soon come to the conclusion that the person is angry.

I could have tested the prototype better. For example, I could wear a sticker showing how I feel. And then see how people react to me when this is so clear.

For people who find it difficult to notice how someone feels, it can be a usefull product, so you know better how to respond to someone.
